The Supreme Court

The past couple of days we have discussed the Supreme Court, it's role and judicial review.
Take the time to look through the following website and choose a landmark Supreme Court Case.

Click this link to see LANDMARK SUPREME COURT CASES

Once you have chosen a case, complete the following:
  1. Use loose-leaf paper (to turn in) or on Google Docs (Titled: YOUR NAME first and last and Landmark)
  2. At the top of the page write the name of the case you chose, and the year it was decided
  3. In one paragraph (about 5 sentences) give me the background of the case, who was involved and what was the case about?
  4. In a second paragraph tell the outcome of the case, how it was decided by the Supreme Court. (3-5 sentences)
  5. In a third and final paragraph, tell your opinion on the decision. Do you feel it was a fair outcome? Do you agree with the decision? Why? (Remember, you can disagree even if it goes against the Constitution--just explain WHY) Finally, tell me why you feel this particular case is considered a "landmark case" in American history.
